BUT my favorite mommy blogger (who happens to have a son just a few days older than Jude) is offering a sweet Dyson D25 if you post about the giveaway on your blog and link back to her site. So! For all my mommy friends, here's the link:

http://babyrabies.com/2009/12/04/tis-the-season-for-a-new-vacuum/#comment-11782

Keep in mind that she sometimes uses naughty words, but boy oh boy is she hilarious...Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-75766434695558138212009-11-23T18:12:00.007-07:002009-11-23T20:02:52.613-07:00We're Back!I doubt anyone even checks this anymore. I've even had several threats to be deleted from friend lists. I've had plenty of time to jump on and write a quick something... but the ol' Price Family Blog just isn't turning out to be what I thought it would... And when it's more of a chore than a stress-reliever, I decide to do something else.

Rather than make excuses, like both Barry's and my camera (from each of our respective missions) being busted, I'll just show a smattering of what pictures we do have currently on iphoto... I think I'm supposed to warn that this is mega image-heavy or something...

So... From where I last left off... We moved to Montana for an internship for the summer and:

On the way to Montana for the summer we stopped at Mount Rushmore. This is what we saw... Nothing. All the foreign tourists kept asking us what we were taking pictures of. It was nuts because it's an entire MOUNTAIN directly in front of you that was completely hidden by the fog.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN1lGhjuhXwy8rzRsrdjbvFQFNuvGJ-WpUXOCwcR5XsVe4c8QWCfmP7jJ9UHNgGqoAfPwQbFmgCqFiKEePuQl066LFOJXzMTbf5qr3_4NdMgTiSZoZ56F80t1pl8HAd4hF3MyfAd4oCDOu/s320/DSC01943.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407496007661872434" />
Jump ahead to all of our adventures boating in Montana...

This is the rare photo of Jude's Best Friend - Grandma. I'm pretty sure over the summer he thought she was his mom that he laughed with and loved and played hide and seek with and learned to somersault with, and I was his slave sister that changed all the diapers and fed all the food. He called us both mama. It was disturbing for a little while there.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP19hbZlVWPzEg3vtoxnqTgRxj4-M5ZCsaBrYhJSMT3bR4cHtsjDFe7RM9JSkoE-RRUjNWJbSR5L3gQL5TU9-MZ_ec3Pe7at79jZ2G2ZmsodYCY8imfm_EiixJ3rY4wEusjrZ-7S2FIbHd/s320/DSC01954.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407496004723841890" />
Jude LOVES his grandpa - he would yell "Papa Papa Papa!" incessantly until my dad picked him up and held him any time he was around. Click here for more of her work) and I wanted to show some of our favorites before I have to run back to the bathroom and contemplate how horrible having the flu is when you're about to move to Montana for the summer and desperately need to pack for the 24 hour drive... Before reading any further, please understand that I'm not willing to discuss it or especially argue about it because I think its a VERY VERY personal decision. But I've been trying a personally modified version of Infant Potty Training. Because it's seemingly a new idea, it appears weird to most of you. And after the most random people find out about what I'm doing (and I'm not very open about it - Before this post anyways), they feel free to lecture me on how I need to wait until Jude's ready a.k.a when they started potty training their own kid (between 2 and 3).

So to all the haters: Jude signed to me TWICE today (so it wasn't just luck) that he needed to go potty, and both times he pooped in the potty. When he's done he signs "All Done" and that's it. Periodically throughout the day I ask him if he needs to go potty, sit him down, and if he has to go, he goes, if he doesn't, the second I sit him down he signs "all done" meaning he doesn't have to go. Eventually he'll sign to me about needed to pee as well, and then we'll work on the night time, and my kid will be out of diapers and free of diaper rash by about 18 months.

It works for me, and Jude's bum is happy. Thanks, Kesli, for being supportive and for teaching me that's it's a personal decision and that Jude and I can do it our own way!Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-30642643368547764852009-03-18T14:22:00.003-06:002009-03-18T14:28:12.618-06:00Hi Jude UpdateSo I watched him say "Hey Woo" 100 times today and he totally is saying Hey Jude. If you sing the song (which we do 1000 times a day) your lips kind of form a "W' shape when going from the "Y' in "Hey" to the "J" in "Jude." We'll see if this continues or if I have an overactive imagination.

And here's a picture of Jude at The Arboretum from November of last year - just to keep the post interesting...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidjoUIzyIzITtrFpviP_I0z4bZvVcOoxegTNhwexuXH4xenwbZWG7-8d-kAQizcCB1AhEV_ih8FY9xoYqrp4AkGwFg9L0a6y8_RXEWIJxVsjEJT0lRRwtGz9dzF9iv2b0SRBj8ag0M_GKF/s320/IMG_2354.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314626960267738466" />Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-89819753883190064612009-03-17T22:23:00.005-06:002009-03-18T06:39:21.053-06:00What did he say?I realize it's a stretch, but now that Jude can say ball, I think he's brilliant and can say anything. He won't always say things on command (like he's been saying "Hi" forever now and I've never been able to prove it). This video catches a glimpse. Pretty decent for a fluke, huh?

It's crazy to see the wheels turning and his lips move with mine as I'm talking.

So let the record show that he can sign All Done (it's is favorite), eat, more, milk, potty, and. He can say Momma, Dadda, Daddo, Hi, ball, and is thisclose from saying duck and dog. Loving him!!!

Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-59458706604488110532009-03-10T18:31:00.017-06:002009-03-10T20:02:51.106-06:00Double in Age, Double in Weight (10 Months)<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-oRMTtwVxUuA18D0BKZtuSQ0e25F_bjR8gPQxz2_j2VBJh3uKERAu9uKBTLER7V0pchJvYj5hK-CuGgPxrAatd6mVq1dTgXZ8WXb8K3nowcQZWwg20CllMzlkCvIfWku2xdmZmq7OXNYE/s400/DSC01889.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311009563905599282" />
Dear Baby Jude,

Hi sweet boy! As of Sunday you are officially 10 months old and we can't hardly believe it. You are a crazy wiggly giggly little boy. You eat healthier than anyone I know. Here's proof:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw9YrV0fodohN66wdavs3lgfjCsQ6D9Y6EBUyzPWbZse35nBeKtXKOZm8pGF1neWuJ29MiaJS-HPRDhz6d7tqZxA6eS4UBEXbhCrgNd7ASUrNPMr_Dym69cT2F5hW9yPxn6QpBil8Dl8zO/s320/IMG_2598.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311738590469654610" />
P.S. Thanks, Jude, for somehow breaking my phone AND my camera this month...

At your 9 month appointment you were a whopping 21 lbs (60th percentile!) and I forget how long, but 75th percentile in length. That's a big change from below 5th percentile at 5 months. Hence the double in age, double in weight. Let's compare you at 5 months to you at 10 months.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEoUPt8GzqdWuZTGYwWAzIt3-bwpy9E-vMqUUfMpgltjXI3FS3igBjfifqJIP8s3ng0aA_cjYeUjg-I6RUkivePWlUXnzKnYzUUpliO-wF6KoK60ceCFByHDEIe2oL6FrZe8A9-J7ejYKJ/s320/DSC01800.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311724940370525394" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirJE3MRz6-EZKP4Dkfx8BA5vdXuxN8SaMpaHUP5Q2FguI_RgsEEUI70LPtyGIC1mJmsAE-v7r7sa3jOmJ_OnHNS3SIVY0TnSdI_dJlRV0tR7HdYn9IWvdFOsdtXdbhxtYh8DdM10xg2V0w/s320/DSC01864.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311725135706747842" />
As much as I love you as a chub, I still loved you as my little skinny boy too. Back then all the waitresses would ask me if you were a preemie and I would cry, and now everyone at church can't get over your chubby cheeks!

Every week or so we babysit your favorite baby Carter, which I will soon dedicate an entire post to... But we went with that same baby Carter and his parents, Jonelle and Steve Gray, to Kalahari, a HUGE indoor waterpark in Sandusky Ohio. You were such a sweet boy, but it was hard to get you to show any emotion! You didn't show any fear or excitement as we put you down the baby slides, you didn't show any fear or excitement when we would lie you on your back in your life-vest and drag you through the water. You didn't show any fear or excitement the hundred times you got splashed in the face. You were just so stone faced - which made us all laugh alot! Your facial expression was a cross between these two looks:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnL9NwL0vvkn_hmx1cdJvzkcWQbxXb40aPmsZsjirA4WfKKpOt2Up7Qw-d-Zvfz7wnL2Sw-boNsfrjI5ohyPL17UlEAsteCUXORtkFzjhFCWDhW81IQpIsbuSvm_BRql4dBE8lkD1Lzp8Q/s320/DSC01873.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311741262696911650" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk-WRKRXS4560yZYNYWBKV8X_AGJSceh9Ok-iDKAIhzcy2RQrOo0WrWZxKa2Dsbf-SDZIRKawTIXFJPZHtjiUvk-JK0hLF0mq_FAWC0wqyP_mu7KtQ947bZYtI5rvzuwbIsZyedrGLgTSo/s320/DSC01870.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311741263194803250" />
Most of the pictures we took with a disposable waterproof camera, but we were able to sneak a few of some of the drier moments.

Here you are doing this awesome-not-at-all-annoying-thing of gripping your spoon like a doberman pincher with ever bite.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOVRaIlkFBq14i2rSBuDqs27y-IPPe6AkHeopr-bT0bYGj_b78DD1L-VvMgQkgYcqyidMp-9MBec4OJan6FgktaMfOp2UR38kegGBRtw6R0tB2hEyAOVWayJEeEAUOrcPdcYTg2Fn3dL0g/s320/DSC01878.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311728356736051522" />
This is what 2 half days at a waterpark does to a 10 month old.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMXlVpNv_xih6iWXW1mJ1UH3CjePtGUiy-1_tT7rPjVJZyY4TWO5HyNPYOsTdmjtjnHN7w1oFu2EFMs1sWJZhN9uHcVIuqw3_3CM38nM1H0jXhlXIx6Sdt7guvk4iZn2WsvFQGtTfqxJTW/s320/DSC01866.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311728370506345202" />
All baby boys love Tonka!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyr-SmvhLH3AV_S8b-vqGT8ccjdQPr148Qse_rYJkQE7bMJ2zzkN37cZwVF8x1kjtU3qKwOCHctT2uSXKME4wds3AMR7wD8X7G_XD54pT990h-SUWEUap_e9hqfpVZEnto5wbDlJBeY1xU/s320/DSC01871.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311728361176765826" />
And the ba-jillionth family photo when I had just locked you into your stroller for the 4th time and didn't feel like taking you out anymore for. You're especially excited when your dad comes home and you call out (or whisper excitedly) "Daddaddaddada." You are a big babbler - this last week or so you've been especially practicing pronouncing "z" sounds. You love to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Colors quiet book I made for you. You're so much fun -- I can't seem to put it into words. You're really laid back and I think it's partly because your Dad and I try to be laid back, but mostly it's just you. I will admit that if you don't get all your sleep, you are a real drag. You whine and whine but with your mouth closed... It's like you're too tired to whine for real so you just hum a whine. You still love music and I catch you gently batting the strings on my guitar daily. You're gentle so I let you... You are tall enough now to reach the keys of the piano and you sometimes play with both hands! It's awesome and I can't wait to teach you how to play in a couple of years.

I'm trying to think of everything I want you to remember... and things for your grandparents to know also... Oh! You make friends easily and love other babies. Sometimes, and by sometimes I mean always, you get excited and knock any other baby over or pull their hair. But it's out of excitement, not anger. I have to watch you really really close when other babies come to play.

You're almost one! And you change so much with every day, let alone every month. It's scary how fast the time flies because we love every second of you. You're our baby boy forever. I love you!

Love, Momma

P.S. This is what happens when it's Daddy's turn to watch you on a Saturday...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSTo_pgWIVR-V6eYB0S1GFTdVmyFvlx3V75F1wCkeL-8MxW0L6uc6IQOhA7wGGtPlr70vRfp3PqPqpnwMdMofjLIRfEaTTP9CX6e8bEh027x7xY4qQAn4v0u6EViCWtubuSyfJBGJ20Wnb/s320/IMG_2593.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311739448895197906" />Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-22001050617031455342009-02-09T13:31:00.005-07:002009-02-14T21:28:07.151-07:009 Months Today!So this was meant to be posted last Sunday, February 8th...

Since the only interesting things about this blog have to do with Jude - I'm copying my friend Cali, who in turn copied it from her friend, who also copied it from someone else. And you're sharing this excitement with your Aunt Kristine's thirtieth birthday. (Happy Birthday Kristine!) As I sit here with bruised knees from crawling around with you all morning and bruised ribs from laughing so hard with you, I can hardly believe you're mine. Of all the babies and all the moms that Heavenly Father has created, he sent you to me. It's madness! You and I are a perfect fit.

Lately you and I have been having crawl races. For many months you would crawl like a wounded soldier, but for the last 5 weeks you've been crawling for real. And this last week you're pretty dang fast! We play hide and seek and you get so excited when you find me that you scream and crawl in a circle frantically. It's the most adorable thing in the world!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 322px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy1VA5elsM_Lg3V66C5-ZnpZVbpXw12GpgVDgXb0KJsNGuUs560wfFwywsAvIleolXtiPvslUjEpER-n2eVGIxkOkUjVsVmn461VnegHkhyphenhyphen3ntul1IphSu_Hih2hZiznjNKAwkVcusHqeI/s400/IMG_2510.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302874842086027746" />

You are deathly afraid of the vacuum. Even when it's turned off, you won't go near it. It's the only thing in the entire house that you haven't explored around and studied. You even know where the vacuum lives when it's in the closet and you won't go near that closet unless the vacuum is out of it. Whenever I turn it on you tense up every muscle in your body and basically cannot function. You don't cry, but you're literally scared stiff. You're such a funny little boy.

But, you're a little bit naughty too! While I had noticed a couple little teeth marks on the top of your brand new very expensive crib, just a few days ago, when I picked you up out of your crib and you had dark paint flecks on your chin, I realized you've been grinding your bottom teeth on the part of the rail that faces you! You're like a baby beaver! But all four of your front teeth have come in so quickly that I can understand your need to soothe yourself. The trouble for me is that you don't cry when you wake up, so I just go and get you when I can hear you playing in there. So it's hard for me to catch you before you start gnawing on the crib. By the way, your shoes are a quick second choice to your crib.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFztydOr__HtzNaIe6mi500N39LSmrKyrWO_Cy0gTiNy2VXEy9pn4lRgd_yB5CitPopvH46E-Iho12tzo_9GmwMz1mi4BLDQDqAv4tFDxLd35C77QkIa8hxtNhfzb-ANZG2sCFa2RddRHK/s400/IMG_2577.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302874847962002738" />

You've nearly doubled in size since we brought you to Ann Arbor. I started a blog using Mac stuff. It's at http://web.me.com/rochellekprice. It's so fun! I'm pretty sure all posts will be there from now on. It's easier to work on and I love everything Mac.

2. Why is the new trend to abbreviate exclamations? For example, ridic (instead of ridiculous), phenom (instead of phenomenal), fantast (instead of fantastic), you get the picture. Ok, I made up fantast, but ridic and phenom are quickly becoming everyday speech. I say it bugs. :)Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-42155606451549989972008-11-03T07:34:00.021-07:002008-11-03T09:54:00.723-07:00A Bug's LifeHappy Halloween! And everytime I click back on my blog, I see what I posted and I want to cry. Jude had lost a pound! He was 4 months old and while he was 90th percentile in height, he only weighed 10 lbs 10 oz! Apparently the stress of a very busy summer and a move across the country cut my milk supply way down. Jude is such a good baby that I had no idea. He still slept through the night and rarely cried and there was no way for me to know. So we started supplementing with formula and he gained 2 lbs in 10 days. It's been a few weeks now, and he's around 15 lbs by my estimation. So finally all his 3-6 month clothing is nice and snug and sooo adorable. Here's a few favorites:

We've recently started Jude on solids. I suck at blogging. I even have this fantasmic computer and I just haven't had the time to do much yet. My new place in Michigan doesn't quite fit our stuff as well as our last apartment. So to me it looks like the furniture section at Salvation Army. Everything is obviously mismatched and most of it's a hand me down :) It's not very eclectic looking or anything. I think it's Barry's dream to live at Salvation Army - his version of a shopping heaven. But I would rather live at Nordstrom, so this living room is killing me. So that's where all of Jude's nap time goes - to me trying to organize and decorate this shack.

So I took a class yesterday at the Mac store about iPhoto (which is ridiculously awesome) and so as I was putting my new skills to work, I noticed that we must love Jude alot while he's sleeping because there's about 900 pictures of him doing so. Here's just a few of them, in chronological order:

1 Week Old - Check out those lips!

10 Days Old - This wasn't staged, Barry took it while we were sleeping.

4 Weeks - Trying unsuccessfully to wake him up to eat.

2 Months - So tired he completely slept through getting undressed to get ready for bed.

3.5 Months - Hoarding his stuff on the drive to Michigan.

What a sweet heart. Here it goes:

We're parents! It's been a crazy ride so far and we're loving every second of it. Most new parents happily complain that their babies sleep too much, and while baby Jude does sleep plenty, I still have barely enough time to shower and eat, let alone blog! Maybe that's because I'm madly in love with my little son and so I just stare at him and play with his hands even while he's sleeping.

It was a scary delivery to get Jude into the world, but he came out as our perfect baby boy on May 8th at 11:51 pm. He was 8 lbs 11 oz. and 20 inches long... Keep in mind that I am 5'2". The funny thing is that he was a huge chubby little guy as soon as he was born, but a few hours later when I finally got to see him (I had to be knocked completely out -- it was scary) he didn't seem so huge at all. He still just seemed like our tiny new baby.

Jude is already my friend and the new spirit in our home is amazing. Barry and I already love each other like mad, but you add this perfect boy into the mix and the love triplified! I love Barry even more when I see what a good dad he is and has been since the first second. The love I have for Jude, I can't even describe. It's hard to believe that he's real and that he's mine. He's so handsome and he laughs in his sleep sometimes and he has long fingers like mine, and big lips and lots of hair and I love him. I measure a couple centimeters bigger than I’m supposed to, so last Wednesday 03/12 I got another ultrasound to check on things.

Isn’t that amazing! He could kick himself in the head if he wanted! Everything is totally healthy. He’s in the 78th percentile for size and my fluid levels are at a healthy high and my blood pressure at a healthy low. His foot measures 2 ½ inches already! And he doesn't have my chicken ankles, so we think that he's going to have his daddy's soccer legs. Can't wait!
Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6113448071575411348.post-77603677296861031812008-02-21T19:01:00.000-07:002008-02-21T19:30:43.617-07:00Utah DriversOur first blog entry! I can warn you now, I’m not a huge fan of the looking-like-I’m-30-weeks-pregnant phase (even though I am 30 weeks pregnant) so don’t expect to see any recent pictures of me posted anytime soon!

I thought that after our long weekend of visiting New York City and Boston, that it would be the perfect time to start this blog as well as document our trip. To save this from being the longest entry ever, I’ll start off by describing our adventure to the airport.

Utah has had a ridiculous amount of snow this year, and Wednesday February 13th was no exception. We left Provo early, around 7:30 pm, to hang out with my mom, who was staying with my grandma in Salt Lake, for a couple hours before we had to catch our flight at 11:59 pm. Good thing we left that early since it took 4 HOURS (!) to get to the airport. There was white-out and blizzard conditions for roughly 20 miles of our drive, and that 20 miles took about 3.5 hours to get through. Not to mention we got rear ended along the way. That’s right. Rear-ended in a blizzard. And apparently if one grey car hits another grey car in heavy traffic in the winter, there’s no reason to stop. Barry and I did not know this until we got hit while in the carpool lane, realized we couldn’t pull over to the left since it was filled with snow and no way to pull to the right with any guarantee that the car behind us would follow. Keep in mind every single lane is jam packed with semis and school buses and cars and no one is moving at all. So for the thirty seconds (literally) that we took to put the car in park and speak to the 18-year old idiot in the other car, all the Utahns had to honk their horns and yell the F word at us (since it was Wednesday and not Sunday) and tell us, “You’re fine, there’s nothing wrong, just keep driving!” In fact, as Barry was at the window of the driver I was text messaging myself his license plate number (and I’m obviously pregnant and obviously a girl) and some other guy drives past and yells, “Hey Dumb-F, how hard is it to pull over?” Gotta love Utah drivers. Let me also add that the kid was so affected by all the yelling that he finally was like, “I don’t know what to do! I’m from a small town!” Oddly enough, he’s from Price.

This is what being 18, talking on a cell phone alone while tailgating in the car pool lane will cost you. A measly $850 + Rental Car for 3 days:

So we did in fact venture over to the far right line right about when it said the 1200 W exit was in 1 mile. An hour and fifteen minutes later, when we passed the sign that said 1200 W was in ½ mile, I convinced Barry to get out of the car and run back to the kid’s car and sit in there with him to copy the insurance information. It took some convincing and walking alongside the kid’s car for awhile before he let Barry in, but then we got everything and went on our merry way to the airport. Sadly, the traffic was so ridiculous that it didn’t add any time to our trip to be rear-ended. Insanity!

We finally get to the airport a little after 11:30, completely skipping hanging out with my mom altogether. I hurry and drop Barry off with the luggage and park the car as quickly as I can in long-term parking. I ran from shuttle stop to shuttle stop until I finally got picked up by the shuttle… to be dropped off at the wrong terminal.

So I run my pregnant body from terminal 1 to terminal 2 and Barry and I and one other girl were at security. The other girl goes first and the security guy looks at our boarding passes for an obscene length of time before casually shaking his head and saying, “I’m sorry guys, but your boarding passes are for yesterday’s date.” Barry and I, both on the defense, explained that he was an idiot. We explained that it was currently 11:58 pm, our flight leaves at 11:59 pm, and it was in fact February 13 for the next 2 mins. He then casually laughed and attempted to explain why he was confused, when we were forced to interrupt him and exclaim, “What part of 1 minute til departure do you not understand!?!?” I then shoved my phone in my purse and sent it through the conveyor belt. On the other end of the metal detector I see that my phone is in a separate dish, but I assumed that it fell out of my purse and Barry put it in a dish for me. Without putting his shoes back on, Barry and I then proceed to run to our gate. Barry gets there first, to be greeted by a frantic, “Are you the Prices??” He explained that I was shortly behind him, and she said she could only hold the gate for 1 more minute. I round the corner, she doesn’t even check our boarding passes, and we make it on the plane – literally without a second to spare!

As we’re sitting in our seats breathing heavily and saying silent prayers of thanks and laughing to ourselves, I decide to call my mom and tell her that we made it. So I flip open my phone and there is a picture on there that isn’t mine. Confused, I open my purse to retrieve my actual phone. Apparently of all the phones in the whole world, and of all the phone colors that the Chocolate comes in, the one girl that was in the security line with us had the same exact phone and I had stolen it by accident. Why not? By then, the whole day was such a joke that I just went up to the stewardess and told her what happened and washed my hands of the whole mess.

But we made it to NYC! Details on that will be provided later…Barry and Rochellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10868051625788923539noreply@blogger.com4
